How to enable Secure Boot

General Process for enabling Secure Boot for ASUS/ASRock/MSI/GIGABYTE motherboards

Please note that the steps in this guide may vary depending on your CPU and motherboard model. If you are not familiar with navigating BIOS menus or adjusting system settings, we recommend seeking assistance from a professional or referring to the official guide for your specific motherboard.

For ASUS (Intel CPU)

Step 1

Access your BIOS/UEFI settings.

• Turn off your PC then restart.
• Persistently hold or press the F2 or Del key when the BIOS screen appears.
• Click the Advanced Mode from your BIOS menu.

Step 2

Enter the Boot screen and then select Secure Boot.

Step 3

Select OS Type, then adjust the setting to Windows UEFI mode.

Please save the settings and exit. You can either click on Exit or press F10 key to save and restart your PC.

For ASRock (Intel CPU)

Step 1

Access your BIOS/UEFI settings.

• Turn off your PC then restart.
• Persistently hold or press the F2 or Del key when the BIOS screen appears.
• Go to Boot then to CSM (Compatibility Support Module) and set CSM to Disabled.
• Press the F10 key to save configuration changes.

Step 2

Go to Security menu and enter Secure Boot to set Secure Boot Mode to Custom.

 

Step 3

Please press Install default Secure Boot keys and select Yes to install Secure Boot keys.

Step 4

Set Secure Boot to Enabled. Then press the F10 key to save configuration changes.

Step 5

After the system restarts, go to Security > Secure Boot menu again, and make sure that Secure Boot is showing Active.

For MSI (Intel CPU)

Step 1

Access your BIOS/UEFI settings.

• Turn off your PC then restart.
• Persistently hold or press the F2 or Del key when the BIOS screen appears.
• Enter the Advanced Mode by clicking the highlighted box or pressing F7.

Step 2

From Settings, go to Advanced menu and change BIOS CSM/UEFI Mode to UEFI.

Step 3

Then return to the Settings, go to Security menu and click the Secure Boot.

Step 4

From the Secure Boot menu, enable it and make sure the Secure Boot Mode is set as Standard.

For GIGABYTE (AMD CPU)

Step 1

Access your BIOS/UEFI settings.

• Turn off your PC then restart.
• Persistently hold or press the F2 or Del key when the BIOS screen appears.
• Go to Advanced menu (or you can press F2)

Step 2

Go to the Boot menu, make sure your CSM Support setting is Disabled, and then click the Secure Boot option.

Step 3

Enable Secure Boot, save changes (or press F10), and reboot. When you come back to this menu after rebooting, the Secure Boot Mode must be Active.
